All News

The Central Community Foundation granted the Carney Fire Department $3,291.88 for essential tools such as flashlights, windshield cutter and battery-operated tools.

“We are so excited for these tools,” said Sarah Smith, Firefighter. “The windshield cutter can save us at least 10 minutes when pulling someone from a vehicle. Those 10 minutes can be the difference between life and death.”

The Central Community Foundation provides grants through the Operation Round Up program at Central Rural Electric Cooperative. Members can round up their monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar to help organizations and residents in need throughout Central’s seven-county service area.
