Agra Public School’s science lab will soon receive much-needed upgrades after receiving a Central Community Foundation grant.
The grant will be used to purchase five new microscopes and is the start of upgrading Agra’s outdated science lab.
“They have had the same science lab equipment for 20 years,” said James Patrick, Agra Public Schools teacher. “We always appreciate what Central does for the community. I’m a member of the co-op and it’s nice to see the money I pay to come back to where I work.”
The Central Community Foundation provides grants through the Operation Round Up program at Central Rural Electric Cooperative. Members of CREC can round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar to help organizations and residents in need throughout Central’s seven-county service area.
