Central Community Foundation to Provide Flags for Veterans

Friday | October 1, 2021
All News

This Veterans Day, you will see flags placed throughout Cushing to honor and thank veterans for their service.

Members of the Cushing Masonic Lodge will place flags in the yards of local veterans and at Cushing’s City Hall the weekend before Veterans Day.

This is the first year the Masonic Lodge is set to do this and is made possible from a Central Community Foundation grant which will pay for the flags.

Cushing Masonic Lodge member, Curtis Meloy, stated that the Veterans will keep the flags and the Masonic Lodge hopes to make this an annual event.

The Central Community Foundation provides grants through the Operation Round Up program at Central Rural Electric Cooperative. Members of CREC can round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar to help organizations and residents in need throughout Central’s seven-county service area.
