The Central Community Foundation provided a grant to Twisted Oaks Rescue and Rehab to supply hay for their rehabilitated horses during the winter months.
Twisted Oaks was founded in 2020 and is an equine rescue and rehabilitation center located near Chandler.
“The animals that come into our rescue come from various situations,” said Alysse Beatie, Twisted Oaks founder. “A large number of our horses come in malnourished and need proper nutrition to help them on their road to recovery.”
The grant provided to the rehabilitation center will provide hay and alfalfa which is critical to the horses, donkeys and mules that reside at the facility.
The horses can be adopted after their rehabilitation, said Beatie. View current horses that are up for adoption on their website at twistedoaksandr.org.
The Central Community Foundation provides grants through the Operation Round Up program at Central Rural Electric Cooperative. Members of CREC can round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar to help organizations and residents in need throughout Central’s seven-county service area.
