Chandler Public Library received a $5,088 grant from the Central Community Foundation to replace carpeting in its community room.

“We were told the carpet had not been replaced since we came into the building in 1992,” said Sandy Tharp-Thee, Chandler Public Library Librarian.

The community room is available to rent and is utilized for food demonstrations, kid activities, local homeschool students and teachers, and the library’s summer reading program, which is attended by 40-65 children weekly.

The Chandler Public Library is open to residents of Chandler and the surrounding communities. If you would like to learn more about the Chandler Public Library, visit chandlerlibrary.okpls.org.

The Central Community Foundation provides grants through the Operation Round Up program at Central Rural Electric Cooperative. Members of CREC can round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar to help organizations and residents in need throughout Central’s seven-county service area.

Chandler Public Librarians Amanda Cross and Sandy Tharp-Thee accept a grant from the Central Community Foundation board member, Gretchen Harlow.
