Guthrie Educational Foundation received a $1,000 grant from the Central Community Foundation to support the purchase of a four-bay arched swing set for Cotteral Elementary School.
Students will begin classes in the new elementary building after its completion during spring break in March. This grant will help enhance the school’s outdoor play area, which will be built where the current Cotteral Elementary School is located.
“We appreciate this grant,” said Shana Bench, Guthrie Educational Foundation board member. “It will significantly enhance the recreational experience for our students at the new Cotteral Elementary School.”
The current elementary school building was built in 1950 and currently supports 345 children.
