Guthrie Softball Booster Club Receives Central Community Foundation Grant for Field Upgrades

The Guthrie softball fields will receive a much-needed upgrade to their facility thanks to the Central Community Foundation.

The Central Community Foundation approved a $1,000 grant to purchase a shade structure to cover bleachers at Guthrie’s school softball field.

“The Guthrie High School and Junior High Softball teams have worked hard to be recognized throughout the state for their on-the-field accomplishments and as parents, we want a place for the girls to be proud of,” said Courtney McLemore with the Guthrie Softball Booster Club.

The Central Community Foundation provides grants through the Operation Round Up program at Central Rural Electric Cooperative. Members of CREC can round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar to help organizations and residents in need throughout Central’s seven-county service area.
