Client and families sat together and began their lunch as Central Trustees and Central Community Foundation board members toured the facility and presented the Hope House with a grant.
“Central’s grant will be used to continue our community services,” said Frankie Garcia-Leon, Hope House Administrator. “We have a shower room where we provide soap and shampoo and it’s open to the community for men, women and children to utilize. We serve meals daily and community residents come and eat when they need to.”
Open to anyone who is in need of their services, the shelter currently houses 52 men, women and children through their emergency shelter and their life transformation programs.
“The programs work, everyone here who is a house leader or a director has been through one of our programs,” Garcia-Leon said. “We’ve lived through what they’re going through and we can relate to the struggles they’re facing.”
Hope House accepts all types of donations from food, clothing, house goods and appliances, all donations are welcomed. If you’d like to donate or learn more about Hope House, visit hopehouseguthrie.org.
