Central Community Foundation provided the Humane Society of Stillwater with a grant to help fund their annual Putts for Pets fundraiser, slated for September 30 at the Cimarron Trails Golf Course in Perkins.
Funds raised from Putts for the Pets are utilized by the shelter to care for the animals during their stay. The Humane Society of Stillwater wrote in the grant application that an average of $80.61 is spent on veterinarian costs per animal.
“In 2022, The Humane Society of Stillwater transferred in a total of 683 animals, and was to adopt out 671 of those animals,” said Emily Snow in the grant application.
The Central Community Foundation provides grants through the Operation Round Up program at Central Rural Electric Cooperative. Members of CREC can round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar to help organizations and residents in need throughout Central’s seven-county service area.
