The future location of the new Perkins Public Library will receive building upgrades soon thanks to a grant from the Central Community Foundation.
The $5,292 grant will help repair the current deteriorated door and install an exterior security door as part of the library’s renovation process. The outer structure of the new library location will be complete within the next few months.
In their grant application, Jennifer Hudson, Library Director said “The Perkins Public Library believes that investing in this project is an investment in the future of Perkins and generations to come.”
The Central Community Foundation provides grants through the Operation Round Up program at Central Rural Electric Cooperative. Members of CREC can round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar to help organizations and residents in need throughout Central’s seven-county service area.
