Stillwater Medical Center Rehab Unit receives grant

All News

The Central Community Foundation provided a grant to the Stillwater Medical Center Rehab Unit to help fund the purchase of a rehabilitation car simulator.

The Stillwater Medical Center Rehab Unit will use the car simulator to help patients practice getting in and out of vehicles. The simulator helps patients gain experience in a safe and clinical setting, easing anxiety and fears. Currently, these skills are not widely practiced and are only assessed on admittance and discharge.

The simulator will be purchased in cooperation with additional funding from Janzen Toyota, the Wilson Auto Family and Stillwater Medical Foundation.

The Central Community Foundation provides grants through the Operation Round Up program at Central Rural Electric Cooperative. Members of CREC can round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar to help organizations and residents in need throughout Central’s seven-county service area.
